Farnborough, United Kingdom — Horberg Industries has wrapped five days at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, exhibiting alongside strategic partner Simtech www.simtech-inc.com at the largest edition of the show in its 78-year history.
Farnborough remains the most concentrated gathering of the global aerospace and defense community, and this year it drew record international participation. Our team spent the week in motion, working all four exhibit halls each day and crossing the site several times to make OEM meetings, distributor meetings, and new global partner introductions. Farnborough rewards companies that go looking for the conversation rather than waiting for it to arrive, and that’s just how we operate.
Meeting the market where it is
Over the course of the show, our team met with OEMs, distributors, and channel partners representing programs on nearly every continent. Some were long-standing customers we have supported for years. Others were introductions made on the floor that turned into serious discussions about sourcing, lead times, and program support. Several of those conversations are already moving forward.
What Farnborough makes visible in a way few other venues can is that the aerospace and defense supply chain is a dense global network of manufacturers, distributors, integrators, and channel partners who depend on one another to keep programs on schedule. Horberg is one of many partners in that network, and our role is to be the one others can count on when tolerances are tight and the delivery date is not moving.
Innovation on the floor
This year’s show reflected a clear shift toward defense, and the technology on display made the case. Boeing’s uncrewed MQ-28 Ghost Bat collaborative combat aircraft made its Farnborough static debut, and General Atomics presented its own collaborative combat aircraft, joined by work with MBDA to integrate the SPEAR miniature cruise missile onto the MQ-9B and Gambit unmanned platforms. Shield AI’s X-BAT, an AI-piloted vertical takeoff and landing fighter that needs no runway, drew steady crowds and represented one of the boldest rethinks of what a combat aircraft can be. Breaking Defense
Alongside the uncrewed systems, the USAF F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team flew daily in its only public European appearance of the year, with the Airbus A400M, Embraer C-390 Millennium, and Saab Gripen among the platforms on static display. GE Aerospace used the show to unveil next-generation technologies across both commercial and defense, while CFM International reported further progress on its RISE sustainable propulsion program.
Autonomy, propulsion, and software earn the headlines, and rightly so. But every platform on that floor, from the newest uncrewed system to the widebody airliners parked outside, depends on precision-manufactured structures and critical components delivered on time, to specification, and at volume. That is the layer of the industry Horberg has built its business around. Whatever the platform, whatever the program, if it flies, our parts are in it.
Partnership and global reach
Exhibiting with Simtech reinforced the value of the partnership for both organizations. Combining Horberg’s precision manufacturing capability with Simtech’s global distribution reach gave visitors a clearer picture of what the two companies can deliver together, and gave our teams a productive week of shared meetings and joint introductions.
Farnborough also served as a reminder of how international this business has become. Our conversations spanned North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific, and the requirements were remarkably consistent: shorter lead times, greater transparency, and manufacturing partners who can scale with a program as it matures.
Looking ahead
We are grateful to Simtech, to the Farnborough International team, and to every OEM, distributor, and channel partner who made time for us over the course of the week.
We left Farnborough with new ideas, new partners, and new friendships, and with a renewed appreciation for the role we play in keeping the world’s aircraft flying. If it flies, our parts are in it.
